What do I not want?
It is easy to think about the things I want, but I’ve found that too much of that can lead me to feeling discontent. Instead, thinking about what I do not want seems like a great way to prioritize life.
The following is a list of 10 things I do not want:
I do not want my children to ever think I do not love them.
I do not want my marriage to fall apart.
I do not want to lose my friends.
I do not want my family to think I am ungrateful.
I do not want my colleagues to think I am not a team player.
I do not want to cause suffering.
I do not want to worry about the future or fret about the past.
I do not want to stop learning or growing.
I do not want to be ignorant or arrogant.
I do not want to be unhealthy (physically, mentally, or spiritually).
